ABOUT US

From its inception, ACTIVATE’s driving force was improving the economic and political strength of Black communities. The acronym ‘Actively Coming Together in Voice, Actions, Theory & Enlightenment’ emphasized a more strategic plan to encourage our citizens to take control of their standing in America.

Our citizens are tired with many struggling to find strength, hope or the desire to fight injustice on top of fighting for basic means of survival. In many cases, those that are economically sound find it hard to maintain a high quality of life because spiritual, mental and emotional wellness aren’t promised to those with money.

Even after many began to earn income again, evictions prevented some from being able to relocate and fillings that were vindicated prevented many from renewing their leases

and Airbnb’s or camping in the woods. It isn’t until you have actually been faced with the threat of being homeless that you are able to see the lack of assistance available and how these citizens are so easily discarded. It is disheartening.

Our organization works to provide a little bit of humanity to individuals that are displaced with support for those fighting to recover.

We UPLIFT

Since the pandemic, the country has been in a depressing state. Political stresses, health and

financial issues make it hard for many to enjoy

their lives. Even when you are doing well, to see so

much hardship around you or to be subjected to higher levels of crime is disheartening.  With connection, support, faith, hope and love, to name a few, we can help heal each other.

We UPLIFT works to spread love, education and support and random acts of kindness throughout the community, in ways that are not directly addressed by any of our programs.

Safe 'T' Zone

The overall safety of our children is the most important thing to any parent. As a community,

this is also prevalent because even though they are our future, they are merging into society right now and affecting change. The old adage 'it takes a village to raise a child' is true.

Young adults face so many obstacles. All though that's life, the lack of having strong support

systems to navigate through those challenges

leaves them susceptible to becoming statistics.

We help motivate and educate them to inspire them to strive to one day make the life they always dreamed of and create the family environment they always wanted to experience.

We aim to help with health & wellness breaks.

Dad Nation Activate (DNA)

Whether by divorce, death, incarceration, abandonment, etc, the United States Census Bureau reported that in 2021, an estimated 24.7 million children lived in absent father homes. That number has increased since then.

In many cases, that absence contributes to the

children growing up in poverty in addition to having high school dropout, teen pregnancy,

depression / suicide, incarceration rates. children without father figures sometimes find it difficult to excel at school.

Our organization hopes to increase the number of dads legally recognized by the state to support those that want to be a vital part of their children's lives, despite not being in the home. we offer additional tools that help them be successful.

Stormy Days

According to a 2023 Federal Reserve survey, 52% of American citizens report that they are barely making ends meet. Only 33% live comfortably.  Long lasting effects of the covid pandemic further exacerbated an economy in which people were already trying to survive.  Not having anywhere to turn when you have a bill that is essential to your livelihood is even more depressing. We offer one-time financial assistance for struggling families.
